How to Play Knight Chase

Knight Chase is a free chess-like strategy game where every move changes the board. Jump like a chess knight, leave falling tiles behind, and be the last knight with somewhere to go.

Outlast the board. Catch your rivals.

Each player controls one knight. On your turn, move to a surviving square using the knight’s familiar L-shaped jump. Land on a rival to capture them. If a player has no legal move when their turn arrives, they are eliminated. The last knight standing wins.

What happens on a turn

  1. Jump in an L. Move two squares in one direction and one square across. Knights jump directly to their destination, so gaps between the start and finish do not block them.
  2. Leave a gap behind. After a normal move, the square you left falls away and cannot be landed on again unless a Chaos power rebuilds it.
  3. Close the chase. Capture by landing on a rival’s square, while preserving enough surviving destinations for your own next turn.

Classic mode

Classic is the pure chase: L-shaped moves, falling tiles, captures, and no power-ups. Every route you remove changes the space available to every knight.

Chaos mode

Mystery boxes appear on the board. Land on one to reveal a power. Swap and Transform happen when collected; the other powers occupy one held slot and can be used at the start of your turn before moving. A new held power replaces the old one.

Double Move
Take two moves during the turn.
Rebuild
Restore any fallen tile.
Shield
Prevent capture until your next turn.
Crack Tile
Drop any standing tile, anywhere on the board.
Swap
Trade places with an opponent of your choice.
Transform
Move next turn as a random rook, bishop, queen, or king; sliding pieces can cross the void.
